freeform is the new way to shade conservatories, skylights and other glazed areas. The sails offer an original, effective and inspiring alternative to traditional window blinds, which can be difficult to clean and must be installed at all windows, and painted window panels, which create reflections when it gets dark.
An innovative UK product – freeform is designed and made by tensARC from our base in Stirling, central Scotland. It is the first time a product of this sort has been available to and affordable for homeowners. We are confident there is no other product that looks as good, works as well, and that has all the benefits of freeform.
Easy to install – freeform sails are put into place using eye plates, screws and swivel hooks. Installation is simple and you can do it yourself. The sails can be attached to virtually any surface, including wood, plasterboard and upvc. The sails can be unhooked and taken down and then replaced quickly and easily at any time.
Effective – freeform sails reflect out solar heat and diffuse harsh glare so it becomes a softer, gentler light. They don’t ever entirely block out light so even on an overcast day, the sails won’t make a room feel dark and gloomy.
Practical – freeform sails are inherently fire retardant and can be cleaned in a domestic washing machine. They can be refitted after the spin cycle.
Creative - freeform sails can stretch up to 30% in any direction, yet remain smooth and taut. They can be stretched into elegant shapes to cover larger areas or easily formed into dynamic 3D shapes to create a more dramatic space or sculptural focal point.At night they can be back-lit with artificial lights or used as a projection screen for vibrant lighting effects.
Technical
The sails are made from an inherently fire retardant Lyrca-based fabric that exceeds the requirements for soft furnishings. (BS 5867 : Part 2 1980)
The design eliminates hard fixings so the sail can be washed in a domestic washing machine as often as required.
Installation is generally simple. An easy to follow guide is supplied and fittings are included.
