“Main sails” This is where the funs starts – the design you started with will now have been scaled to suit your space and the total self-fit cost for this design in your space including all fittings, delivery and VAT will be shown at the bottom. You can now make small changes to this design OR start to create something completely unique to you. Turn on the presentation view to add colour to the sails and back to design view to make changes.
Note: When you make changes these changes are sent to our server and then the updated model information is sent back to your computer. The “Accent sails” section is used to add infill diamonds or triangles as a way to fill in the gaps between sails, add interest to the design with subtle shade and shadow or to add a splash of colour. Remember the view you see is looking from above and the size of the gaps shown is an approximation based on the average shape of the sails. If the size of the gaps is important you can speak to your designer about this after you submit your design.

Our solar control fabric is 1.85m wide, the maximum stretched sail size we can make from a single width of fabric is 2.1m. If any of your sails are above 2.1m in both directions, then a warning will appear to let you know that your sail will be made from two or more pieces of fabric joined together. The seam is only 5mm wide, very subtle and is created using colour matched thread. The seam location is always driven by aesthetic considerations and not to minimise the use of fabric. The offcuts of fabric are used to create other products, cut at the same time, so that it is not wasted.
Our standard range of “Solid” range fabric colours are: White, Ivory, Oyster, Sand and Stone. These lighter colours can be the same colour on both sides without significantly reducing the solar performance. With Darker colours and grey based colours the colours absorbs part of the heat from the sun rather than reflecting it – this can significantly reduce the solar performance. For these colours we maintain the solar performance by adding colour to the inside face (the side you see) and leave the side facing the sun white – we call these fabrics “Duplex”. It is more expensive to make Duplex fabric so this is reflected in the price you pay. Sand and Stone are available in both ranges but the duplex option performs better. If you are interested in one of these colours then your designer can advise you on the effect this will have on heat reduction in the summer so that you decide is it is right for you.
